Pickerington Central’s dreams of a “mythical” national high school football championship is over after St. Xavier rolled by the former No. 4 Tigers by a score of 44-3 in the Ohio Division I high school football championship game Friday night. St. X’s fourth overall state title moves the Bombers up nine spots to No. 23 in the latest High School Football America 100 national high school football rankings. PC tumbles 40 spots to No. 44 this week in our rankings powered by BlackMP Living Water.
Ohio’s Archbishop Hoban remains in the hunt for a national title. The Knights, ranked No. 9 in the Top 100, will be playing No. 21 Massillon Washington for the state Division II on Friday.
In Alabama, Thompson, the state’s defending 7A champ, will try to keep its drive alive for No. 1 when it plays Hoover in the state semifinals. The Warriors are currently ranked No. 3 in the nation. Back on October 23, Thompson beat Hoover 39-23. Hoover will enter the game ranked No. 29 in America.
